Police in Athens have arrested a man who they say was caught on video killing a kitten.

Lt. Jonathan Caldwell of Athens police said Vince Allan Griffin, 30, has been charged with one count of aggravated cruelty to animals. He was arrested on Tuesday.

Caldwell said police received a call from a local business on July 6 in reference to a dead kitten found in the parking lot.

“After reviewing surveillance video it was apparent that the kitten was killed intentionally and in a violent manner,” Caldwell said.

During an interview with investigators on Tuesday, Griffin admitted to killing the kitten out of anger, Caldwell said.
